What you need to know about Red Pandas

Red pandas can easily be identified by their unique ruddy coats. They use this characteristic as a perfect camouflage to hide behind the canopy of fir trees where branches are covered with clumps of reddish-brown moss and white lichens.

These creatures have large, round heads and short snouts with big, pointed ears. Their faces are white with reddish-brown marks that extend from their eyes to the corner of their mouth. These marks could have evolved to help them keep the sun out of their eyes. Red pandas’ tails are also outstanding in red with white buff rings.

These arboreal animals have a soft, dense woolly undercoat covered by long, coarse guard hairs. Long, bushy tails help them maintain balance and protect them from harsh cold and winds. They have five, widely separated toes and semi-retractable claws, covered completely by their dense fur.

Red panda prefers a solitary life. They are often active at night or in the twilight. IUCN has declared red pandas as vulnerable species due to human beings who hunt them down and destroy their home. Therefore, these creatures are protected by the governments of some countries within their habitat range. In all these countries, the hunting of red pandas is illegal.

Protect the Red Panda

International conservation and wildlife organizations have raised funds, conducted research, and educated the public about the preservation of wild animals. They also created legislation for the protection and conservation of Red Pandas. This animal is granted protection under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).

This is an international agreement between governments to ensure that the international trade of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival. On the other hand, the Red Panda Trust exists to unite global conservation organizations to protect the Red Panda throughout Asia.

Red Pandas’ symbolic meaning

The red panda is a symbol of gentleness, compromise, and patience. Their spiritual meanings include balance, independence, security, as well as nonchalance. Furthermore, they also represent tree wisdom, tree divination, and recognizing the individual tree spirit.

If your spirit animal guide is a red panda, it means that you have a gentle and sensitive soul with an even-tempered disposition. Red Panda also carries the message implying that you don’t need to be aggressive or loud to succeed or make a difference.

Inspired by these, we have created red panda 3d cards to arouse animal love and the responsibility to protect endangered animals and their habitat. It will be a perfect pop up gift card for you to send this message to everyone in Asia and around the world. You can also use it as a creative educational tool for kids to learn more about the natural world.
